Almost one hundred years after Francois Coty defined the chypre genre with a perfume of the same name, Hiram Green presents his adaptation of this classic accord. Named after the fictional land described in James Hilton’s novel Lost Horizon, Shangri La evokes a mystical fragrant place, synonymous with any earthly paradise, and particularly a mythical Himalayan utopia – a permanently happy land, isolated from the outside world. The name also evokes the imagery of exoticism of the Orient.
Ingredients: citrus, peach, jasmine, rose, iris, spices, vetiver and oakmoss.
After learning that most perfumes, even the ‘best quality’ ones, are manufactured using synthetic materials, Hiram Green wanted to offer a natural alternative to his customer. Since 2013, Hiram Green creates handcrafted fragrances made exclusively from natural materials in his perfume studio in Gouda, The Netherlands.
